Hand Objects 2016

The idea came from my fascination with discovering playful and peculiar states of the hand. Red Hand is inspired by a hand that appeared while throwing clay, and Blue Hand emerged through the process of dyeing fabric with indigo. Not only in ceramics, but also in many other crafts, the hand is the most sensitive tool for measuring, manipulating, and understanding materials. In those moments, I feel the hand is no longer merely a part of the body, but seems to act with a will of its own. I felt en urge to capture these forms as something worth celebrating and remembering.

Paper-Light Objects 2015

As part of a semester at the Royal Danish Academy in 2015, students were asked to design ceramic tableware based on the concept of the "Inclusive Meal," guided by the question: How can a meal be inclusive? 

I created a water jar and spoons for people living with hypermobility syndrome and arthritis. Inspired by the lightness and movement of paper, the pieces are designed to be both physically and visually light, with soft, generous curves that support those who find heavy ceramics or thin handles difficult to use. Rather than conventional tableware, the objects take on poetic, ambiguous forms that quietly reference specific bodily experiences during dining.
